Manchester Unites at Chabad Lag B’Omer Events
More than 800 children at numerous Manchester schools enjoyed a Lag B’Omer rally and carnival. L’Chaim-Chabad volunteers prepared a fun, educational program, which taught the kids about the special day and made sure everyone had a great time.
Both faculty and students were thrilled with the events. “The Lag B’omer carnival was so good, all the children and staff had an amazing experience,” said Mr Wolf, Principal of North Cheshire Day School. “If not for you guys there would be nothing done in the school for Lag B’omer - and all the other Yomim Tovim. Thank you so much!”
Mr Sammy Morhaim of King David said, “L'chaim Chabad are always helping with various Jewish programs, and it really worked out well, making a tremendous Kiddush Hashem.” Students at Bury and Whitefield were also part of the fun, with the dean of Judaic studies, Mrs Lewis, saying, “You could tell that all the children and the staff really enjoyed the Lag B’omer carnival run by L'chaim Chabad. In addition the bochurim were a really good group – very special bochurim, just watching them had a good influence on the children.”
In addition to the school programs, L’Chaim arranged a “BBQ and Bonfire” for families in the Heaton Park Shul in partnership with the Holy Law Shul. The crowd enjoyed a lively kumzitz led by Chazan Zevi Neumann, with insights, stories and inspiration by Adult Education director Rabbi Levi Cohen.
Teens in the CTeen program enjoyed their own barbecue hosted by CTeen directors, Rabbi Sholom and Mushky Cohen. There was singing, games, and much appreciated break from intense exam study.
