The 2015 Chabad Teen International Shabbaton was held from Friday, Feb. 27, through Sunday, March 1, in New York City. 28 teens from Manchester gathered with nearly 1,500 teenagers for a weekend filled with social and educational activities, including touring famous New York landmarks, shopping, workshops and discussions about Judaism, Shabbat observance and more.

IMG-20150301-WA081.jpgThe fun started from the moment they boarded the plane peaking at a Saturday night Havdallah ceremony in Time Sq. a special event for Jewish teens in New York’s Time Square displaying Jewish pride and unity, featuring a special havdalah ceremony, inspiration and concert with Jewish singer Gad Elbaz who belted out the lyrics: “Yes I'm a Jew / A proud one too / As bright as day / It's my DNA.”. Manchester's Cteen pictures made it to the big screens in Time Square as Jewish pride was displayed prominently.

After praying at the resing place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Sunday night sawIMG-20150301-WA042.jpg 1500 teens gather for a farewell banquet where our very own Ben Bursk was nominated for a leadership medal for his efforts throughout the year on behalf of Cteen. The experience was further bolstered by greetings from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. In his video-taped remarks, aired at the closing banquet event of the weekend, he applauded “Chabad institutions such as CTeen [which] have a strong reputation for working in the community.”

IMG-20150301-WA026.jpgLoved it!!! Can't wait for next year" "most amazing trip ever, Thank you so much" "as organised as ever most amazing program" "A weekend NEVER to forget"

Were just some of the many comments that were voiced by teens and their parents who were already booking their spots for next years Shabbaton.
