Holiday Times Pesach 2016 LR-page-001.jpgTHOUSANDS of people across the North West of England benefited from L'chaim Chabad Lubavitch before, during and after Pesach.

Their publication Holiday Times, containing colourful features and festival information, was read by all of 30,000 people. Around 5,000 received hand-baked shemura matzot and more than 800 needy people benefited from donations of £25,000 worth of food to Lchaim’s food bank which provided items essential for Pesach meals, including chicken, turkey, grape juice, wine, cheese, matzah, eggs, fruit and vegetables.

Chabad volunteers helped dozens of people kosher their kitchens and many more to sell their chametz. Pre-Pesach shiurim were given for men and women, explaining the rituals of the seder night.

royal Seder with Rabbi Levi Cohen.jpgRabbi Levi Cohen and his Rebbetzen Shaina hosted family sedarim on both nights, allowing many to enjoy stimulating discussion, delicious food and spiritual inspiration way into the night.

Communal sedarim were also held in other private and care homes as well as in conjunction with the Fed. Shemura matzoh and individually wrapped Afikoman gifts were provided for all sedarim.

Chabad volunteers visited more than 15 Manchester synagogues to help lead the services. This year these volunteers made more popular than ever Moshiach seudot on the last day of Pesach for both adults and children to emphasise the kezayit matza.jpgfestival’s link with the coming Messiah. These were held in shuls and in conjunction with organisations.

A post Pesach Kinnus Torah - an evening of in depth study - was well attended, and addressed by Rabbis Dovid Eisenberg, Daniel Walker and Avrohom Moshe Lampin, who held the audience captivated for almost 2 hours.
